From Shiraz, I traveled to Isfahan, again by hitchhiking. This time took me quite a while and it was a long day. Changed cars for around 4 times and I was lucky that when I reached Abadeh, someone bought me a lunch and from Abadeh, a Lexus car gave me a ride straight to Isfahan. In Isfahan I stayed in a new hostel called Ragrug hostel near Dashtestan.
For me personally, the best of Isfahan is Naghsh-e-jahan square located right at the city centre. Naghsh-e-jahan literally means image of the world. It is one of the largest square in the world. As the name suggests, on the western side is Ali Qapu palace depictions of politics, on eastern side is Sheikh LotfAllah mosque which was originally school depictions of science, on the northern side is Isfahan Grand bazaar depictions of economy, while southern side is Abbasi mosque depictions of religion.
To enter Ali Qapu palace, Lotfollah mosque, and Abbasi mosque, the entrance fee is IRR200000 each. So again I skipped the entrance. But, I spent 3 sunset on the square to make a hyperlapse of the square.
In Isfahan, there are also Chehel Sotoon palace, Jama’mosque, big bazaar, Khaju bridge and Sih-so-pol bridge. The other place I visited other than the square was sih-so-pol bridge. I visited it at night. The bridge was well floodlit however, there was no water in the river down it. That just mean no reflection of the bridge from the river. Most part of Iran is having drought for quite some time now(at the time of my visit) hence the dried river.
I made a hyperlapse video around Naghsh-e-jahan square which took me 3 sunset and hours of snapping photos. Enjoy.
